We are looking for a Lead UX Strategist to take on a leading role in challenging and inspiring our clients, shaping their propositions and enabling their growth ambitions.
Based in London or Copenhagen, you will be a key contributor to driving strategic growth at Star by dramatically expanding our efforts upstream to help our clients envision and deliver groundbreaking solutions for digital products and services. You should be dedicated to building partnerships, collaborating with clients to understand their needs, bringing clarity to complex business challenges and utilizing strategic methodologies to enable problem-solving.

You will be working primarily in regulated industries, such as Digital Health and Medtech, while engaging with clients and colleagues across the US, Europe and Asia. Reporting to the Head of Design UK and Nordics, you will partner closely with the global Healthtech team and our regional Design & Engineering centers to identify, pursue and deliver strategic UX engagements for new and existing clients. At Star, we also believe in the value of a cross-category mindset, so you will be encouraged to bring prior experiences and insights to the table, keep abreast of wider changes and always bring critical thinking to your work.
You will spend your days immersed in client discussions, cross-capability workshops and strategic analysis. You will be front and centre, presenting your findings and insights to clients, recommending ways forward and bringing strategic insight to cross-capability workshops - both virtual and physical (where appropriate). You will have the opportunity to lead and develop your own voice and learn from your peers to enrich and deepen your strategic skill set, connecting deductive dots and making inductive leaps.

- Conducting primary and secondary research and analysis to connect the dots across industry, business and technology trends and bringing that analysis to life;
- Synthesising qualitative and quantitative market data into meaningful business-relevant insights and being adept at conveying them to a range of stakeholders as needed;
- Planning and facilitating client workshops, documenting workshop outcomes and engaging participants with your experience, enthusiasm and ambition;
- Mapping and prioritising business concepts by means of value propositions, use cases and indicative business modelling;
- Capturing and conveying business value by means of compelling storytelling;
- Collaborating with Design and Engineering teams to define UX concepts, product roadmaps and product requirements specifications;
- Leading and collaborating with teams through iterative design, prototyping and testing processes;
- Leading or participating in pre-sales activities by qualifying new client opportunities, defining scope of work and liaising with commercial and delivery teams to craft compelling proposals;
- Representing Star as a thought leader in your field and liaising with marketing to deliver engaging content and narratives through webinars, articles, podcasts and keynote speaking.
- An academic background (bachelor’s or master’s degree) in a UX related field such as Service Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, UX Design, Design Research, business applied anthropology or other relevant program;
- 8+ years of professional experience working in cross-disciplinary teams within a consultancy, startup or in-house design/innovation team;
- Experience working with UX strategy in regulated environments such as Digital Health and Medtech;
- Mastery of strategic tools and methodologies to deliver rigorous product strategies;
- Excellent spoken and written English—other language skills would be a plus.
