Lead Backend Engineer: We are looking for you!
Our client is building an AI-native spend governance platform to control and improve the corporate spending. Product’s mission is to redefine the spending process through personalized, contextual and proactive decision making resulting in positive reinforcement of the behavior. You’ll get a chance to work on a brand-new product, affect technical and product decisions and help bring the first version of the product to life.
Skills and experience you can bring to this role!
Qualifications & experience:
- Multi-year experience in FinTech domain as a technical leader (real experience integrating card issuing/card processing/invoicing into the product, creating compliant & secure architectures for FinTech products, leading technical decisions within regulatory constraints);
- 7+ years of experience as a software engineer (NodeJS and TypeScript);
- Experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining complex systems in production using cloud provider services (GCP preferred);
- Experience managing the small team of engineers;
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate services reliably after launch;
- Skilled in agentic development process with focus on full product delivery lifecycle where majority of artifacts are created by AI;
- Comfortable communicating in English with clients and integration providers, leading tech workshops and discussions;
- Experience building & evaluating AI agents with one of the popular frameworks.
What impact you will make
- Build an AI-native Fintech startup from scratch;
- Offer the team and the client recommendations about the integration plan, system design, REST APIs, data models, and security;
- Coordinate team efforts to break down requirements, define the architecture, and deliver features reliably and on schedule;
- Own services end-to-end, from design and build through deployment, monitoring, and on-call, keeping them reliable in production;
- Address the technical side of payments compliance, such as PCI-DSS controls, data protection, and secure handling of cardholder data;
- Act as the technical point of contact with the client, translating business goals into a clear delivery plan;
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through code review, pairing, and shared standards;
- Active participation in daily standups, project breakdown, estimation and retrospective meetings.
