Achieving this endgame means creating convenient, user-centric EV charging systems with real-time availability, smart off-peak charging and session tracking that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability.
Operational reality
The primary challenge for Connected Kerb was to improve their existing EV charging mobile solution. The company aimed to revitalize its digital interface to cater to the evolving needs of its diverse user base and stakeholders, including city institutions and mayor's offices.

Connected Kerb and Star initiated a strategic partnership to enhance user engagement, product functionality and support Connected Kerb’s market leadership in on and off-street charging.
Laying the foundation
The project began with a focus on creating the initial product roadmap and backlog, outlining key features and priorities. Essential activities included UX design, wireframing, and mapping the user journey. This foundational work provided clear direction, ensuring the final product would meet the diverse needs of Connected Kerb’s users and stakeholders.
Building and refining the product
The team refined the product backlog, enhanced UX and visual designs, and advanced mobile app development for iOS and Android. A cloud-based API backend was rigorously tested and documented to guide development and future updates.
MVP release
The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) was released, featuring Home Charging and RFID technology integration. This initial release set the stage for further enhancements, focusing on user experience improvements, including map functionality for locating EV charging stations, session payments, favorite locations, and account management.
Full Launch
Connected Kerb fully launched their app with advanced Smart Charging capabilities. The phased release strategy, gradually rolling out the app from 1% to 100% over a week, ensured control and quick issue response. Post-launch, ongoing development continued to refine and expand features based on user feedback.
