Silicon Valley & Gothenburg & Hamburg, 4 September – OYSTA (a cooperation between the Sweden-based life science company Ondosis and the Hamburg-based pharmaceutical company Tiefenbacher Group), partners with Star, a global technology consultancy, to create a digital solution to support the care team and children with ADHD. These connected solutions help ensure that the entire suite functions cohesively, providing a system that improves ADHD treatment for patients, physicians and families. The OYSTA dosage manager integrates seamlessly with the app, allowing for individualized medication adjustments. This empowers patients to take greater control of their treatment, with the aim to enhance titration and adherence while reviewing safety and treatment effectiveness.

"Traditional ADHD treatment approaches often lack personalization, leading to challenges with medication adherence and overall treatment effectiveness. At OnDosis, we believe personalized medication management is key to improving patient lives. Partnering with Star has been instrumental in achieving our complete offering. Their user-centric design approach perfectly complements our focus on innovative dosing technology. The OYSTA Digital Service is a key step towards empowering patients, families, caregivers and healthcare providers to provide individualized treatment and give patients more tools and insights to monitor treatment process," said Joshua Carney, Chief Digital Officer of OnDosis.

In recognition of the exceptional design and innovation behind the OYSTA Digital Service, Star and OYSTA won the UX Design Awards 2024, where the solution won in the product category for its outstanding user experience and intuitive way to interact and follow the treatment. This milestone reflects the teams' dedication to creating a product that not only meets medical and technical standards but also prioritizes the needs of patients, guardians, and healthcare providers ensuring the solution is both effective and accessible. The recognition underscores the impact of the collaboration on improving patient outcomes and sets a high standard for future digital health solutions.

Design enhancements that improve patient and physician experiences are enabled by:

  • Individualized dosage: Dosage Manager is the handheld device, allowing patients and caregivers to adjust and track doses according to prescribed regimens, promoting titration and adherence while reviewing treatment effectiveness.
  • Data-based decision making: The OYSTA HCP Portal enables physicians to access comprehensive data from the dosage manager, as well as input from caregivers and teachers. This data aggregation provides individualized treatments and adjustments needed based on patient insights.
  • Optimized workflow: By digitizing traditional paper-based processes and incorporating rating scales, the suite saves time and reduces the administrative burden for both parents and healthcare providers through intuitive UI design.

The partnership has met several key milestones, including the initial concept design, user research to tailor the application to patient needs and the integration of OYSTA smart dosage technologies. These efforts have led to a compliant product development that includes reimbursement strategy, product interoperability, and not only supports titration and medication adherence but also enhances the overall treatment experience for patients.

“We’re pleased to continue our partnership with forward-thinking and purpose-driven brands like OYSTA who share our commitment to using our capabilities and technology to improve people’s lives. The solution we co-created empowers patients and personalizes the healthcare experience, which is exactly what ADHD management needs,” said Michael Schreibmann, CEO and co-founder of Star.

As the partnership expands, Star and OYSTA will continue to refine the solution to ensure accessibility by all patients around the world and explore additional healthcare applications, potentially extending the benefits of this technology to other therapeutic areas and setting new industry standards in personalized care.
