The Opportunity

Star is looking for an energetic, passionate and people-focused Marketing and Community Manager for our Sunnyvale location. This position is the heartbeat of Star Space Sunnyvale and is responsible for connecting members, maintaining (and growing) the community and creating an environment that reflects warmth and hospitality. 

You will find new and creative ways to get the word out about Star Space, showcasing our space to potential new members, as well as making sure that our current members are happy and thriving in our space.

You are emotionally intelligent and hospitality focused, with willingness to be “in the trenches”. You will create a collaborative environment and make members feel at ease.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with members and Star employees at every level;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Organization and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Attention to detail and a curiosity for seeking new ways to improve;
  • Passion for building community and delivering a best in class work experience.

Should have:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in administration/operations, marketing, and/or hospitality;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, etc.;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Experience managing social media channels;
  • Excellent time management skills.

Nice to have:

  • A passion for design and/or hospitality;
  • Background working in a start-up or small business environment;
  • Experience in a customer-facing sales or marketing role.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a host and brand ambassador for the space, greeting members and visitors alike and ensuring a positive experience;
  • Manage and execute local marketing communications strategy (including newsletters, social media posts, members promotions, events, etc.) in collaboration with the Operations Director;
  • Fielding and qualifying new membership and event leads; 
  • Assist with both internal and external event organization, as well as relevant insurance needs;
  • Maintain effective communication among our coworking members and Star team;
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director to collect regular member feedback and institute changes to the space in line with increasing community engagement;
  • Handle general enquiries and communications from existing and potential members and coordinate responses with the Operations Director;
  • Support membership growth, together with the Operations Director, by responding to incoming enquiries, hosting office tours and promoting our brand proposition;
  • Keep the space well-maintained and in tidy order at all times, in coordination with cleaning team; 
  • Assist the Operations Director where necessary with onboarding of new members;
  • Process mail for coworking members and Star crew;
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies as needed;
  • Support the Operations director with additional tasks as needed.
